The Venue

We will be celebrating at High Hurstwood Village Hall. The hall is situated at the edge of the village green in the beautiful small hamlet of High Hurstwood.
Most of the celebration will occur on hard standing and in the hall. However there will be two marquees up on the grass so please wear appropriate footwear.
The hall also sits on a hill, with the green sloping down to one side. This means that it can be a little chilly if the wind blows in the wrong direction. Obviously we hope that it will be a warm and sunny day... but this is the UK...
How to get there
Address: High Hurstwod Village Hall, Chillies Lane, High Hurstwood, East Sussex, TN22 4AD
By Car
There is a large free carpark next to the hall that will hold at least 30 cars. There is also additional road side parking around High Hurstwood.
The easiest way to get to the hall by car is to leave the M25 at junction 6, then follow the A22 all the way to Nutley before cutting across the Ashdown Forest to High Hurstwood. This route is is a few minutes longer than taking the M23 or back roads but you are less likely to encounter wildlife in the road.
Alternatively if you travel via the Dartford Crossing you are best leaving the M25 at Junction 5 and taking the A21 to Tunbridge Wells, then the A26 through Crowborough to High Hurstwood.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are not used to driving on the Ashdown Forest- There are a lot of domestic animals (sheep and cattle) and wildlife (especially deer) that frequently cross the roads in front of cars. All of the above animals travel in at least pairs, so if you see one watch out for the rest!
By Train:
The closest train stations are Buxted (6 mins drive away), Crowborough (11 mins drive), Uckfield (11 mins drive).
All stations are on the same line (Uckfield is the last stop), but not all trains stop at all locations. There are more likely to be waiting taxis outside Crowborough and Uckfield.
By Air:
The closest airport is London Gatwick (~40 mins away). If you plan/ need to travel by air please let us know.
