As most of you will have travelled quite a way, why not make it a long weekend visit. Below are some recommended local activities for you to try and places to visit.
For the kids...
Winnie the Pooh Walk, Museum and Tea Room

Just 15 minutes north of High Hurstwood is Pooh Country. Visit the Pooh Corner tea rooms to pick up a map (£1) and go on a hunt for Pooh, Piglet's and Owl's Houses, Roo's sandpit and Eeyore's Gloomy place. Why not stop and play pooh sticks on Pooh bridge along your walk.

Drusillas Park (Zoo)

Uckfield Leisure Centre
The leisure centre has a good sized pool, with a flume. They do pool disco and inflatable sessions. The center also runs other activities such a a roller disco.

Ashdown Forest Walking

The Bull Track Bike Park
Just 10 minutes from High Hurstwood is the Bull Track Bike Park. The fastest growing bike park in the south east! Fossil Hunting
There are numerous places to hunt for fossils on the coast nearby. Depending on what you want to find/ how far you want to travel the following places are best.

Off- Road Family Cycling
There are several off-road cycle paths which use disused railway lines. The best of these are the Cuckoo Trail and the Forest Way.

For the urban explorers.....
There are lots of nice towns and villages around that are worth exploring.

Lewes
The town itself is lovely with lots of small shops and restaurants, but it also has a lot of tourist attractions to visit such as Anne of Cleaves House.

Alfriston and surrounding area
Alfriston is one of the prettiest villages in Sussex It is a lovely village to walk around. There are places to eat and shop.

Brighton
The Lanes are your best bet if you are wanting to shop. If you want to take in the scenery then Brighton pier and the Brighton Pavillion are pretty spectacular.

Penshurst, Chiddingstone and surrounding area
In the sevenoaks district there are a number of beautiful tudor towns that are well worth a stroll through. Most of these also have their own tourist attractions that you can also visit, e.g. Penshurst place and Chiddingstone Castle.

Beachy Head and Seven Sisters
A beautiful coastal drive and walk on a nice day. There are several small attractions near by that you can also visit such as the Seven Sisters Sheep Farm.

Pevensey
A small coastal village home to Pevensey Castle and a beautiful shingle beach. The beach is quieter than most and there are no cliffs for easy access. Pevensey was also the landing place of WIlliam the Conqueror in 1066. Eastbourne
A Traditional Victorian seaside town with the typical pier, coastal gardens, crazy golf plus beautiful clifftop walks.

Hastings Old Town
Another Victorian seaside town. The old town is worth a visit, along with one of the largest on beach fishing fleets. The fish and chips here are excellent. There is also a number of small tourist attractions and museums such as the SeaLife Centre and Smugglers Adventure.

Bodiam castle
(National Trust) Archetypal 14th century moated castle with ruined interior. If you are over that way it also isn't far to drive to visit Battle Abbey and the site of the 1066 Norman Conquest. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/bodiam-castle

Sheffield park and gardens

Hever Castle

Knowle House and Deer Park
